WINNERS: The Drifters
QUIZ buffs turned out for the carnival quiz in the build up to the carnival in Bridport.
The winning team was called 'the Drifters' and they are regular
quizzers at the Ropemakers Tuesday night quiz.
They thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were delighted with the
bottle of champagne first prize.
Brian Morris, from the carnival committee, organised the quiz and
called out the questions.
These were general knowledge with a picture round of musicians and singers and a table round of football badges where the home team's town had to be identified.
The raffle was great fun and conducted by Shaun Fox, chairman of
the carnival committee.
He welcomed Junior Carnival Princess Daniella Scadding and attendant Kirsty Ellison.
They took it in turns to press the computer for each new raffle number.
Shaun explained that the wide range of raffle prizes had been donated
by local businesses and included a number of generous vouchers for
eating out.
He asked that when winners go to use their vouchers they
make a point of thanking the staff as without such donations and
sponsorship carnival will not be able to continue in the future.
Shaun was delighted to announce that over £100 had been made
from the quiz evening to go into carnival funds that provide grants
to local beneficiaries.
